I have downloaded the free trial of Adobe InDesign CS5.5 and thought that this was the perfect solution as I could create a new InDesign document, then place the word document inside it, then add the InDesign document to an InDesign book - then, from a book, I could create the PDF document which would be the manul - and this would also mean that when the user updated the word document, InDesign would then update the InDesign document at the click of the mouse - Hooooowever, the formatting of the tables in these word documents is pretty rubbish and InDesign also thinks this as well, because it doesnt place the table in the correct format.

When the word documents in the folder are updated, the user then wants the manuals to be updated. I have been asked to find some software that will allow a user to create pdf manuals that are made up of individual word documents stored in a folder.
